Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information GetPetitionReady.com handles, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this website only. The Petition Ready brief itself runs in each licensed lawyer's own Claude and Google accounts; LegiShield does not receive the client information held there. That is covered by the licence terms, not this notice.
1. Who we are
LegiShield Ltd, Lagos, Nigeria ("LegiShield", "we") runs this website and decides how the information described here is used. Privacy contact: admin@legishield.com.
2. What we collect
What you give us
If you use the enquiry form, it collects your name, email, WhatsApp number, year of call, chambers or organisation, state, your role, what you are interested in, how many lawyers would use it, how you want a reply, any note you add, and whether you want The Brief.
The form does not send anything to our servers. Pressing "Prepare my enquiry" builds a message on your own device. Nothing reaches us unless you then send it yourself by email or WhatsApp. What we receive is that message.
Please do not put client confidences in the form or in any message to us.
What is collected automatically
Our web host keeps standard server logs when a page or file is requested: IP address, date and time, the file requested, browser type and the referring page. We do not use these to identify you.
We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. The fonts, images and videos are served from this site, not from third-party networks. If we add analytics, we will update this notice first.
From others
None. We do not buy or receive lists of people.
3. How and why we use it
| Use | Information | Lawful basis (NDPA 2023) |
|---|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and arrange a demonstration or licence | What you send us | Your consent, and steps you ask for before a contract |
| Send The Brief, if you ticked the box | Name and email | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Keep the site running and secure | Server logs | Our legitimate interest in a working, secure site |
| Meet legal duties and defend legal claims | Whatever the duty or claim requires | Legal obligation |
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.
4. Cookies
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. If that changes, we will update this notice and ask first where the law requires it.
5. Who else sees it
- Our host stores the site and its server logs.
- Email and messaging providers. The service you use to send your enquiry, and the one we use to receive it (for example Google for email, WhatsApp for messages), will process it under their own terms.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these providers process information outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 allows for transfers.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a licensee, when the licence terms apply.
- The Brief: until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs: for the period our host keeps them.
7. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us:
- to tell you what we hold and give you a copy;
- to correct it;
- to delete it;
- to restrict how we use it;
- to send it to you or someone else in a usable format.
You can also object to our use of it and withdraw consent at any time. Email admin@legishield.com. We will reply within the time the law allows. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
8. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. We limit who can read enquiries. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information by email or WhatsApp.
9. Children
This site is for legal practitioners and their organisations. It is not meant for anyone under 18.
10. Changes
We will post any change here with a new date. If a change is significant, we will say so on the home page.
